A lawsuit has been filed against Ford in the beginning of February 2023 in regards to the faulty fuel injector in Ford Bronco Sport and Escape vehicles. Of those two models, certain fuel injectors were found to have immense cracks that can result in the entire vehicle catching on fire. Ford has since recalled the vehicles, with over 500,000 vehicles and rising already being recalled. Now it\u2019s time to find out if your Ford applies to this case for compensation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Signs Your Ford is Affected\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

In a <\/span>statement<\/span><\/a> published on their website in November 2022 during the recall, Ford noted that any strong smell of gasoline in the Ford Bronco Sport or Escape models can indicate a cracked fuel injector. The strong <\/span>smell of gasoline<\/span><\/a> goes for the interior and exterior of the car.<\/span><\/p>\n

The major issue comes with the vehicle being on and any fuel that escapes from the cracks found in the fuel injector come into contact with hot surfaces, creating a fire underneath the hood. The models that have been noted to have this defect include all models with the base models' 181-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So far, over 54 Ford vehicles have had an underhood fire. The specific models that are affected with the defect include:<\/span><\/p>\n
