Bladder cancer, a malignancy of the urinary bladder lining, poses a grave health challenge with substantial morbidity and mortality rates. Occupational hazards, particularly among firefighters, have been identified as a contributing factor to the disease's incidence. Central to this concern is exposure to aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF), a fire suppressant extensively used for combating fuel fires. AFFF contains per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which are chemicals that have raised health warnings. Evidence from scientific studies suggests a correlation between PFAS exposure from AFFF and the development of bladder cancer, implicating these compounds in carcinogenic processes.<\/p>\n
